ECOLNET is developing a range of resources to support the application of the EETLS by individual businesses and certification agencies active in the field of ecotourism.

A central learning resource developed by ECOLNET is the online training packages which are targeted to tourism businesses and evaluators of the EETLS. The training packages are accessible via a moodle platform. For more information on the training packages  visit this link.

The content of the training packages relate to the EETLS requirements. The learning content is organised in units, and each unit is followed by exercises, further reading material and linked to case studies. If you would like to use the training packages, click here to visit the e-learning platform. Just log in as a guest and use the password 'Eco2012'.

The Library of best practice aims to link best practice examples of ecotourism with the practical implementation of the EETLS criteria, through a number of case studies. Every case study is described and the ingredients of the best practice are analysed and inked to the EETLS criteria. The Library offers a search facility and is also linked to the quality assessment tools developed by ECOLNET.

The Atlas of Excellence is a very useful resource for identifying sustainable tourism and ecotourism organisations, including service providers around Europe and globally. The Atlas has been developed by the Destinet Portal of sustainable tourism and has been expanded with the examples of the ECOLNET library.

The inventory presents courses related to ecotourism and sustainable tourism in formal education and training, including post-secondary and tertiary education, as well as and non-formal learning around Europe. Currently the inventory contains information on 250 training courses.

The inventory has been compiled by all ECOLNET partners who provided information on learning courses offered in their countries, although the survey was also extended to other European countries. An analysis of the contents of the inventory helped the ECOLNET team to identify gaps in the tourism education and training provision, particularly on topics related to the EETLS criteria, but also to identify useful content that has been subsequently exploited in the training packages for EETLS users, i.e. ecotourism businesses and evaluators.
